ReplyDeleteThe last day of business at the Little Falls NJ store is August 23rd. All their preorders were transferred to the store on Route 3 in Clifton NJ in Riverfront Center
DeleteI remember Little Falls opened as a "tournament store", the predecessor to the Store of the Future; it's much larger than a standard Gamestop and had an area in the back with multiple TVs for regular tournaments. Unfortunately the larger size most likely means higher rent, which makes it a liability now.

GameStop #6266 at the East River Plaza in Manhattan is gone since at least August 11th (517 E 117th St Suite 202 New York, NY 10035). There's a sign on the door saying "This location is closed. All reservations will be transferred to the address below." There are heavy metal bars over the doors during normal business hours, and the inside is stripped bare.

DeleteThey closed first! I was shocked that the one on 228 was closed then the Cranberry Mall location was told rent was being doubled (during a pandemic at that) so Corporate closed them and took trucks in overnight and cleared out the store.

It's still listed on their website as an existing store but I passed the store by and it just has a paper sign on the door saying "Closed, all inventory has been sold." Don't know when it closed but assuming recently as it was still there in the spring.

A local paper reported that GameStop #7715's last day was August 23rd. Their Facebook page has also been deleted when it was up a few weeks ago.
Did the GameStop in Dayton TN close? There is no result in google anymore for any store in Dayton TN. Did it close and when did it close?

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen anything on social media recently; my theory is that closings are on hold until after the PS5 and XBox OneX launch, as chains usually get allocations of systems per store (so having more stores would help them in that case). I could see them doing some closing sales starting in December for leases that are up at the end of January, but we'll see.

ReplyDeleteGamestop hasn't updated their store locator since July; a lot of closed stores are still on there. I verified that it's been removed from Google searches and marked as closed on Yelp though, so gamestop.com's the only site left that's still listing it.

ReplyDeleteThey don't release an actual list, especially since that 300 is reported to be throughout 2021; they're apparently going to close 100 more before the end of their 4th quarter (November-January) however, so there will be some after the new system launches (or possibly not until after Christmas, with the sales running for just January).
